in the Burlington school district to promote computer science education only a computer teacher is only to teach you about computers

Training more math teachers — along with history and English teachers — to teach computer science isn't the solution. Would you attend a math class taught by a teacher with no math background or education, just some training? Or a Physics class taught by an English teacher with a little training? Of course not. So why is it ok for computer science? I'm not opposed to having math and physics and English teachers introduce a little computer science into their courses, but not teach a COSI course as a prerequisite or prep for an advanced class like AP. The reason there is not enough programmers is because there is not enough programming education. The reason there is not enough programming education is because there is not enough programming teachers. Having math or science or English teachers filling in is not the solution.
