Welcome to another year of GrokIt!
GrokIt originally appeared 7 years ago. While teaching at RHS, I conceived it as the digital equivalent of the Do Now or activator you may be used to other teachers giving to you to start the class.
Interestingly enough, I believe the blog has taken up a much more important role in my classes.
I envision using GrokIt as a hi-tech portal to get you and your energies focused on the class topics of the day by hyperlinking around the net to:
•discover state-of the-art technologies
•bump into some engaging topic
•just enjoy a fun and interesting website.
My hope is to try to kindle a spark of interest in computers and technology.
After all, the World Wide Web and everything in it was created by software developers, computer programmers, web designers, all kinds of techie people of which you are the next generation.
I also want to create a class community, a public forum from which you could express your opinions and see the opinions of others about these topics.
So here's today's GrokIt.
One of my favorite sites is Wired. Check it out @

I read "Fitbits first smart watch" I looked at this article because I'm all about technology. You should read this because it talks about how they were trying to catch up to this generation with their technology and succeed in doing so in 2015. :)
i found an article on wired about satellites that want to track human activity don't think that's right because people want personal space and it would be weird people would get mad
Kind of creepy to think that satellites are powerful enough to take pictures of us from way up there!

i read an article where it explains why Verizon new WiFi plan is better than most others.
Im not sure if its right to be able to see what individuals are doing from space.what is the point of monitoring people when they arent even aware that satellites can see their face from space and things they are doing
I read this article about how Amazon built a pretty cool dome in the heart of Seattle. I read this article because the dome looked cool and I'm all about futuristic stuff.
i read about an article about Houston and how they will overcome this disaster and it is very interesting
I read an article about what it takes to hold your breath underwater for more than 24 minutes. I thought this was very interesting because I could never hold my breath underwater for more than a minute.
I couldn't find anything to read.
i read a article about new ways to get food deliver to ur home a faster and better way in the future and i thought that was pretty cool ...
I read a article about cross breeding animals such as donkeys and horses and polar bears and grizzly bears. This is interesting to me because it shows how different animals can still manage to reproduce and make hybrids.
