That's what happens when you dont come up with your own artwork...
flappy bird made my world go round. made my dark skies blue. Made my pasta sauce purer. Made my water more holy. Made me mornings more bitter sweet. Also made me want too whack my f*ing head off a wall little asian ass bird flappy its way to the bottom of the ground!!

I disagree with Chris P. These articles helped me to understand the issues involvolved in this controversy. My favorite quote from the articles as a counter that Nintendo had a legal rights against the artwork in Flappy Bird which it claimed was taken from a Mario Bros game:
In truth, the history of video game design is one in which inspiration and plagiarism have often been virtually indistinguishable.
Does this mean that a game publisher like Nintendo has a lock on future development of any game because it kind of looks like something they developed 30 years ago? Hmmm.
