bitcoins are useless without the internet. if there was a nation wide power outage, there will be mad money lost in the internet.

I still don't quite understand how bitcoins are generated or mined.
Who's to stop me from creating all of this digital money?

we should just get one for the whole school. But the digital money will fail in the future for sure just for the simple fact of no internet.
