100113WarmUp

Yesterday we read about how Team America came back from a 0-7 deficit to win the America's Cup.  Here's spomething re;ated.

Read this very cool article recently from Wired magazine about sports infographics. What?

You know that orange line that marks the line of scrimmage when you watch football on TV? It's not really there--it's an infographic. And one man was responsible for it and has made gazillions.

Now Larry Ellison, the CEO of Oracle has paid him to make a new system to highlight the America's cup.

Technology has influenced a new generation of ship design, especially for creating fast boats.

The boat is cool. but i find it unnecessary for a boat to be that big. If it's just for racing that's a cool way of doing it, a way to catch someone's eye, but if the boat is just to cruise around on. That's another story. other wise i'd like to try it.

Since I Don't Like To Be On A Boat I Wouldn't Try It .

Amazing how technology is pushing the envelope with ship design. Even so, the fastest boat can only go about 28 or 30 knots, what's that about 32 or 35 miles an hour. That's what I do driving on Bennington Street in front of the Beachmont school.
