Designing sensors and other detection devices is an actual real world application for all kinds of programming and software, even more prevalent than developing a killer app like Google Glass.

I think that in a few more years, computers are going to probably go out of business. Our technologies are so advanced, that people arent buying computers anymore, they rather buy tablets and smartphones.
