Today is the 132nd birthday of Gideon Sundback. Who is he? And what did he invent that, in it's own small way, has had an enormous effect on making a lot of things that we do and use much easier.

He's even on the Google Doodle for today.

It's the little things that make the biggest difference. And it's exactly these things that have the most impact on society. Imagine a world without zippers and the effect it had on the clothing and luggage industries. What other device relies on a zipper?

materials would be so much different if we didnt have zippers. everything would be buttons which is a pain in the ass
