A moment in my life that was particularly significant was when I took my first computer course. I learned a language called COBOL, which stands for Common Business Language. I wasn't too impressed and didn't really get interested in computers until I took another course, years later, which taught me a lot about how to code. I continued coding as a computer programmer and as a software engineer, as well as when I was a graduate student while getting my Master's degree in Computer Science. Coding is something that I really enjoy and now, I can look back and say that that COBOL course was the beginning. dmac
