Probably not so important for a week long trip to the moon but if we're intent on colonizing either the moon or even mars, will need to think about growing a food source which would require pollination. So which bees would be good candidates to go? I've heard of bumblebees being used in huge greenhouses to pollinate tomatoes or what not but they don't produce any honey. Will be interesting to see what they come up. Maybe even the robotic bees would be a better solution.

because they are responsible for 80% to pollinate
ReplyDeleteBees would be an important part of living in a different planet.
ReplyDeleteHow do we expect to colonize mars with bees if we can't even protect them on earth. We will continue the same pattern :(
